The following report provides an overview of the Youth, Peace, and Security Webinar, organised by the African Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS), in collaboration with the Women, Youth, Peace and Security Institute of the Kofi Annan International Peace Training Center, and the Democracy and Good Governance Working Group of the All-Africa Students Union. The webinar took place on January 18, 2024, and brought together key players in African security including researchers, academics, security personnel, and other stakeholders to discuss the theme, “Combatting Disinformation: Empowering African Youth for Peace and Security.”

The main purpose of this report is to provide a summary of the various proceedings of the event, which embodies key themes discussed, ideas raised, and the recommendations that were made. The report also highlights the importance of the event’s themes and objectives and provides a call to action for readers to get involved in preventing and fighting disinformation in Africa.
